ThriveMore Than Credit. A Brighter You.

Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use the Thrive Check website of THRIVE SA (PTY) LTD, trading as Thrive SA. Please read them before you use the service. If you do not agree with them, do not use it.

1. What we provide

1.1 The Thrive Check (free)

A short questionnaire that produces a Thrive Readiness Score out of 100, plus a plain-English summary of what you told us. It is calculated only from the answers you give.

The Thrive Readiness Score is not a credit score. It does not come from a credit bureau, no lender uses it, and it does not indicate whether any application will be approved. It is our own view of what you have told us about yourself.

1.2 What happens after your Thrive Check

At the end of the questions we ask for your name, cell number and email address. We then show you your Thrive Readiness Score and a plain-English summary of what your answers point to, and we email it to you. That is where this website ends. A Thrive consultant may then phone you about the enquiry you started.

If an authorised Thrive representative later offers you a paid service — for example a written analysis of your actual credit bureau record, or Thrive Membership — that is arranged separately with you. Where you enter into a paid service or membership with Thrive, the applicable fees and payment terms will be disclosed and agreed with you during the onboarding process and recorded in the applicable agreement or debit-order mandate. It is not sold on this website, no price for it is quoted here, and nothing on this website commits you to it.

2. What this service is not

3. What we do not promise

We will tell you what your record shows and what we suggest you do about it. We cannot promise:

Where information on your record is inaccurate, outdated or may have prescribed, we can explain the process for disputing it and what the bureau is then obliged to do. The decision remains the bureau's and, where applicable, the credit provider's or a court's.

Be careful of anyone who charges a fee and guarantees to remove correct information from your credit record. You are entitled to a free credit report from each registered credit bureau once a year.

4. Your responsibilities

5. Consent to retrieve your credit information

We do not retrieve your credit record from this website, and we do not ask for your ID number here. Where a bureau retrieval does happen — on a separate service you have agreed to — we retrieve your record only after you have given consent on the bureau consent screen and provided your ID number. That is a soft enquiry for your own information: it is not a credit application and it does not by itself affect your score. You may withdraw consent for future retrievals at any time by emailing privacy@thrivesa.co.za; withdrawal does not undo a retrieval that has already been performed or a report already delivered.

6. Price and payment

7. If we cannot produce an analysis you have paid for

Occasionally a credit bureau holds no usable record for an ID number — for example where someone has never held credit. Where you have paid for an analysis and that happens, there is no analysis for us to write and we will refund you in full. Email support@thrivesa.co.za if you have paid and have not received your analysis.

8. Your right to cancel

Nothing on this website is bought, so there is nothing here to cancel. Where you have paid for a Thrive Analysis, it is a digital product prepared specifically for you and delivered within minutes. Once your report has been generated and delivered it cannot be "returned". If you change your mind before it has been generated, contact us and we will cancel and refund it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

9. Messages from us

We will send you service messages about something you asked for or bought — your score, your receipt, your analysis. A consultant may contact you about the enquiry you started. Marketing messages are sent only if you ticked the optional marketing box, and you can stop them at any time by replying STOP, using the unsubscribe link, or emailing privacy@thrivesa.co.za.

10. Availability

We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We depend on third parties — hosting, our messaging providers and, where an analysis has been arranged, the credit bureau — and their outages can interrupt the service.

11. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits or opportunities, or for any decision a lender, bureau, court or other third party makes about you. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Intellectual property

The Thrive name, the Thrive Check, the Thrive Readiness Score, our report structure and site content belong to THRIVE SA (PTY) LTD. Your report is yours to use for your own purposes.

13. Suspension

We may suspend or decline service where we reasonably believe it is being used unlawfully, to submit another person's ID number, or to abuse the service.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, including the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and POPIA. The South African courts have jurisdiction.
